Preparing for Your Stay at Haven Behavioral Hospital of Philadelphia

The decision to accept help for your mental illness is a big one, and we don’t take your trust in us lightly. We’ll be there for you every step of the way, making sure you and your family understand all the ins and outs of your care, and what you can expect from treatment.

Our trained intake specialists will make your admissions process as easy as possible, from the comprehensive health assessment to setting up billing and payment. Because your safety is our top priority, certain items are not permitted during your stay. We‘ll provide a detailed list of everything you can and can’t bring during the comprehensive assessment process.

We’ll provide toiletries such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, shampoo, and soap. We encourage you to bring the toiletries you prefer, as long as they don’t contain alcohol or are not in an aerosol can. We ask patients to wear clothing that encourages a respectful, safe and enjoyable environment for all patients. Laundry facilities are available for patient use. Smoking is not allowed anywhere in our facility.
